At Hopjump, we love to travel. One of the most recent trips was taken by business operations admin, Shelby. She headed to Ireland with her sister on a brisk 5-day adventure. They hopped off their red-eye flight and headed straight to pick up their rental car. After some hesitation about driving on the wrong side of the road, they were off to their first destination - the Cliffs of Moher.
After venturing out to the edge of the steep Cliffs, they hopped back into their car and Shelby navigated nervously down narrow switchback roads on their way to Galway. They spent the afternoon wandering around the bustling downtown area exploring all the quaint shops and indulging in locally made ice cream before heading down to take in the sunset on the bay.
The big adventure was awaiting on their third day- Giant’s Causeway. This natural phenomena of hexagonal basalt columns were an incredible site on a drizzly, cold morning. After taking in the sites, they braved the wind and rain to traverse the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge which was traditionally used by fisherman. It was then back into the car on the quick trip down to Belfast. They spent the afternoon exploring the downtown area and the rich history of the city taking in many of the Protestant and Catholic murals scattered about town.
The last morning was an early start to catch the first tour at the Guinness Storehouse. After learning about how the dark stuff is brewed, they were learned how to pour their own perfect pint and were rewarded with 360-degree view of Dublin on the top floor. Then it was a mad dash across the country with exactly enough change for tolls to get back to the Shannon airport for the flight home. It was a whirlwind adventure around the Emerald Isle that Shelby won’t soon forget!
