We’re so excited to announce the launch of our new Diversity & Inclusion initiative with our partners at Cogo Labs! A few of our Hopjump employees teamed up with some Cogo partners to create Cogo Spectra, an internal diversity and inclusion effort for the LGBTQ+ community. Today, we would like to share with you our vision and mission statement, along with some of the events that we plan to attend or participate in over the next few months!
Encourage Cogo and the verticals to be the most supportive and affirming space for LGBT, queer, gender-nonconforming, and questioning community and allies to work.
Foster an inclusive environment of affirmation through acts of service, community events, recruiting outreach, and active dialogue about the unique challenges facing LGBTQ+ people in the workplace.
We kicked off our first meeting at the beginning of February. The community and allies gathered for a short presentation explaining the vision/mission, future events, and the inspiration behind our new logo and watermark, created by Julia Bujalski at Cogo Labs! We finished with many pizzas, some craft beers, and an impromptu Ariana Grande “thank u, next” listening party.
We will be meeting the first Monday of every month in an open forum setting, encouraging all of our colleagues to offer any suggestions for events or how we can make our space more inclusive! For our next event, a group of us will be attending the Harvard LGBTQ+ Conference. You can also catch us on June 8th marching in the Boston Pride parade, sponsored by Cogo!
